Joe DiSano is a native of Macomb County, Michigan and a veteran of Michigan and national politics for 22 years.
In 2013, he created DiSano Strategies, LLC. DiSano Strategies is a political consulting firm that offers political candidates and advocacy groups proven campaign advice and strategic communication plans. DiSano Strategies takes a hands-on approach to issues and campaigns, always keeping the big picture in mind. Politics is about making a personal connection with people, and DiSano Strategies helps people do just that. In 2012, DiSano was named one of Michigan’s Top 5 Democratic consultants by Campaigns & Elections, the journal of record for political professionals. In 2010, DiSano was named among Michigan’s top political influencers by Campaigns & Elections.
DiSano was a partner in Main Street Strategies, LLC for seven years. Additionally, DiSano has served in various key staff positions for the Michigan House Democrats, working with the Black Caucus, and for Congressman John Dingell.
DiSano’s past clients include the Michigan Democratic Party, Progress Michigan, Planned Parenthood of Michigan, Michigan AFL-CIO, Environmental Defense Fund, Operating Engineers Local 324, Warren Mayor Jim Fouts, Ecology Center, Macomb County Probate Judge Carl Marlinga, State Senator Curtis Hertel Jr., State Representative Kristy Pagan, along with dozens of others, including the successful recall of State Representative Paul Scott.
DiSano has done grasstops and grassroots health care campaigns on behalf of Direct Impact, Advocacy Group, Nuclear Energy Institute and other leaders in the grassroots advocacy field. He did work for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in 2009, helping lower-income and minority households prepare for the transition to digital television.
In 2015, DiSano directed the come from behind victory of Lorie Barnwell over incumbent Warren Treasurer Carolyn Moceri. At the beginning of the race, Barnwell polled in the single digits. With the help of DiSano Strategies, Barnwell surged by over 51 points to defeat Moceri and won the race by 52% to 42%.
Already in 2016, DiSano Strategies has consulted on successful primary campaigns for State Representative Andy Schor, Brian Elder for State Representative, Jim Barcia for Bay County Executive, Yes! Wayne County Parks and Detroit City Councilwoman At-Large Janeé Ayers.
Additionally, 2016 has seen DiSano Strategies successfully worked on independent expenditure campaigns for Turnaround Wayne, Southeast Michigan First and Empowering People, Improving Communities.
Joe Munem is also native of Macomb County, Michigan and a veteran of Michigan politics for nearly 30 years.
Joe began his political career helping to elect Dave Jaye to the Michigan House of Representatives. He has since worked on over 100 campaigns on the local, county and state levels.
Joe served as the Communications Director of the City of Warren where he developed the city’s cable television stations, website and launched the first episodic municipal podcast in the United States in 2005.
Joe also worked as the Deputy Clerk for the Charter Township of West Bloomfield, where had had the opportunity to work the other side of campaign, working as an election officer during eight elections.
Utilizing his extensive background in municipal, county and state government, Joe is currently the Government Affairs Director of Rizzo Environmental Services.
Joe is an amateur thespian, having performed in over 30 shows on various stages in metro Detroit. He is the co-host of another show devoted to local community theater – Front Row Podcast.
